Strasbourg Turkish Mission Buildings

The Strasbourg Mission Buildings are among the most beautiful examples of how İznik tiles we traditionally see in classic motifs can be applied in different spaces with modern designs.

The Strasbourg Mission buildings are among the most beautiful examples of how İznik tiles, traditionally designed with classic motifs can be applied in different spaces with modern designs. We are proud of this project on which we worked very hard and enthusiastically.

The project implemented with Architect Han Tümertekin is also a great example of how well and creatively İznik tiles can be used outdoors. Tümertekin used lighting in the building, and it looks peculiarly beautiful during the day and the night.

The Strasbourg Turkish Mission buildings consist of consular offices, a service building, a consular residence and the premises of the Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe. The exterior and interior designs are colored and ensouled by the tiles produced at İznik Foundation's workshops. In the project implemented with Architect Han Tümertekin, a solid color design was selected in harmony with the overall architecture and the materials. The tiles were produced in turquoise, which lends its name to the Turkish culture. When we look at the solid turquoise tiles, we see small details which are unique as they were hand-made. The details, veins, and waves reflecting the authenticity of each tile were installed in harmony with each other.
