Turkish Embassy In Lisbon And Lisbon Memorial

A special memorial was erected in the Lisbon Embassy premises for the memory of Cahide Mıhçıoğlu, the spouse of the Charge d’Affaires Yurtsev Mıhçıoğlu and the Portuguese policeman Manuel Pacheco who died in an attack in 1983.

The memorial features cypress tree and spring branch patterns are used to emphasize that life and death are intertwined. The memorial was inaugurated by Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and his Portuguese counterpart Rui Machete.
